Happy German Halloween!

We had an interesting Halloween evening...We were walking home from the coffee shop discussing how we had not seen any costumes all day and if we were in the US we already would have seen lots. Later we were at home and heard lots of kids outside...they were trick or treating to all the apartments around us!!!!!! They were going up to each building and ringing all the buttons until someone let them in and then they would go door to door inside each building. We knew it was going to be bad because the dogs freak when our doorbell goes off...plus we had NOTHING we could give them. And we didn't even have the ability to open the door and say "sorry no candy" We peaked outside and noticed that the two old grouchy women that live downstairs had flipped their door mats over and we realized that was the key!! If the mat is upside down, they won't ring your bell and bother you. :) It wasn't that bad, only a couple of groups came through our building. We just watched through the peep hole. One little girl fell down the steps and we thought we may have to go out and help her!! But she jumped right up. Since today is a holiday, almost everything is closed up. (Even McDonald's) We went and had lunch and went on a quest to find a vet here in town. We are going to need one before we come home because the puppies have to have their physical to fly. That should be an interesting adventure. Christmas decorations are going up everywhere...they really go all out here and I can't wait to take some pictures of the outside of the mall once they are finished! Happy Birthday to my brother in-law Mikey and Cissy too!! See you Thursday Cissy!
